In Recital with Barbie Noyes - Life and Death in America

Claire and Barbie will be performing George Crumb’s unique and moving “Apparition” for amplified piano and voice. The recital includes other works by contemporary American composers including Libby Larsen’s “The Peculiar Case of Dr. H.H. Holmes”, for baritone and piano and Albright’s “Sonata for Saxophone and Piano.”

SongFest: The Breaking of Nations

A recital commemorating the Treaty of Versailles, which ended World War I. This concert features composers suppressed by the Nazi regime as well as the US premiere of Fata Morgana by Pavel Hass. The Breaking of Nations is presented in collaboration with the Ziering-Conlon Initiative for Recovered Voices.

Liszt Lieder

Ms. McCahan will join collaborative pianist Rebecca Golub for Ms. Golub’s masters recital with a set of lieder composed by Franz Liszt. Full of dramatic flourish, the songs are expressive and colorful setting of poetry by Heinrich Heine, Emil Kuh, and Nikolaus Lenau.
